On the usually quiet Tuesday, Zach Masrom kept it ticking over on his own, keeping Sake at bay and then winning a super-tough 1 hour 4 frame safety battle marathon against Mark Donnelly to win 3-1 and make Ladder progress.
Zach is one of the unsung heroes of the Ladder, coming in at 53 and visiting all the main venues across Jakarta in his mission to rise. Take a look at his playing record since his first Challenge on 23rd May.
Played 13, Won 8, Lost 5, up 14 rungs.
Ladder life for those out of the Top 25 is rather more difficult than for those in it – no just turning up to the Dungeon and playing three or four on the bounce, no, it can take many phone calls and e-mails just to get one set up.
You will see Zach has criss-crossed the city to get his 13 Challenges in, with all that means in terms of traffic sitting – and a lost cue in the back of a Blue Bird on one occasion! No worries, he tells us, he is enjoying it all and has aspirations for further progress!
Zach, you are the Ladderman of the Month for July – well done.
